Whenever phones and tablets come into question, there are two sides of the argument: those who side with Android devices, and those who side with Apple devices. pros:

  • Often can interchange batteries

  • Often have expandable storage

  • Greater opportunities for customisation

  • More phone and therefore price options

Cons:

  • Not a homogenous experience on all devices

  • Less chance of being able to go to a brick-and-mortar store

  • Less opportunities to link with other devices

 

Price:

Price is a key factor that differentiates IOS and Android devices as whilst with IOS you have one option, Apple, when you go down the Android route, you can look at a range of companies. As a result, whilst with Apple you are more-or-less locked into certain price ranges depending on the age of the device, with Android, you are able to find smartphones and tablets that suit almost any budget. By setting a budget you will be able to rule out if Apple devices are even an option for you, and once you have a figure in mind, you can start to look at the devices which are actually feasible for you to purchase.
